Blah Blah Blah Blah

I just wasted 45 minutes watching and listening to the President claim to know all and demand that everyone fall in line behind him. More of a lecture than a speech. Anyone that believes he is interested in making America the best in anything is ignoring the last three years in which he has systematically chipped away at our economic system and freedoms. Thank goodness for opening night in the NFL or he would probably have gone on and on and on.

Houston...No Problem!!!

The horns have sounded in brilliant, jubilant celebration. The flag flies high and proud. T-shirts and Final Four gear are sure to follow. Everyone will be wearing cutoff blue jean shorts for the foreseeable future. Princeton, West Virginia, Ohio State, and North Carolina have been put to bed. Now onto the Final Four!!!

Snow, It's a Beautiful Thing

Ah, the radars of winter are enough to warm the coldest of hearts on a snowy winter day. As this winter has been quite snowy thus far, visions of global warming vanish even more with each snow flake that falls. May this just be the start of even more snow as the winter goes on. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

C-A-T-S Cats Cats Cats!!!!!!!!!!!!

One down and the rest to go. Big Blue has made their 2010 - 2011 debut, Rob Bromley has a soar throat, and UK is bowl eligible. What an emotional roller coaster it has been the last 24 hours.

What's Up, Doc?

The 2010 carrot crop is in and a good crop it is indeed. A robust collection of orange sticks worthy of Bugs Bunny. Suddenly an urge to color a picture of Bugs Bunny has emerged. Not that there is any shame in that. Quite the contrary. But back to the carrots. Not bad for an eight foot long row since we are in excess of nine inches below the normal rainfall for the year. They have now all been chopped up and frozen so they can be used in vegetable soup through the winter, along with our dozen or so quarts of tomatoes we have in the freezer.

Yummy!

Look at these beauties, just look. Yes, they were as good as they look, especially the cooked ones. Now, grilling in windy weather does present challenges such as the charcoal going out before it gets hot and then when it does get hot burning so fast the heat disappears faster than you would have liked. But these were fantastic. Thumbs up were given by all, including our special guest for the weekend. You know who you are.
