Delicious indeed. A little warm weather and cheeseburgers appeared on the grill. Looking forward to more of this! The next day was back in the thirties but it was good while it lasted.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Let's recap what has been one of the coldest weeks on record according to the Number One on the Fold record books. Tuesday January 21, 2014 marked the beginning of a cold snap featuring a surge above the 40 degree mark followed by a drop to minus 6 degrees, matching the previous record of minus 6 set earlier this year. Add in around five inches of blown snow and you have the makings of a memorable blast of winter. The temperature dropped below zero on four out of eight days. As you can see the artic air reached way down south. Fun for the entire country! The hope is that we will be able to enjoy yet another visit from the polar express this winter. Several storms are lined up. Hopefully one of them unloads a snowfall for the ages or crashes our temperature below minus 6.

It's Snowing Everywhere
It's snowing in Canada. It's snowing in Texas. Just another day of global warming...I mean climate change...or maybe it's just winter.

Polar Vortex 2014
Now that we have come out of the deep freeze left by a blast of arctic air, it is time to summarize the event courtesy of the Number One on the Fold weather center. A low of minus 6 was recorded, which is the lowest reading on record since Number One on the Fold began tracking extreme weather events in 2014. Over a 12-hour period beginning late Sunday evening, the temperature plunged an astounding 42 degrees, from 41 degrees to -1 degree. After hovering around the zero degree mark during the daytime hours Monday, the temperature plunged further, hitting the minus 6 degree mark by early Monday night around 8:30 PM. There the temperature remained until Tuesday morning when it began its slow climb back to the low teens by the end of the day. After a slight cooling Tuesday night into Wednesday, temperatures rocketed into the 20's and low 30's Wednesday afternoon. Several tests were ran to verify the authenticity of the arctic air. Boiling water was flung into the air just to vaporize immediately. Bubbles were blown just to watch them freeze. And team members were subjected to the elements without any protection to measure the rapid rate of shivering.
And of course, what else would anyone do to celebrate the arrival of an arctic blast of air on the night of its arrival? Make homemade ice cream!

So This is Global Warming?
I sure do fear for the future of the earth with all the global warming kicking into gear. I would hate to think how cold it wold be if the planet was not warming as a result of man's "irresponsible" and "wasteful" behavior. I think the only things warming are the "climate changer's" brains from their over active imagination and need to belong to a cause.

That's a Puzzler
After 13 hours over two days she is finally complete. Despite hundreds of blue pieces which were only a shade or two different, the sky is complete and Bodie stands proud!
